Everyone is invited to join! We hope to bring the latest about the Kubernetes and CNCF projects.
We have two special guests: Raghu Shankar and Chaitanya Rahalkar. Raghu will go over in how to build Kubernetes cluster in home Lab. Chaitanya will explain about Kubernetes runtime security and detecting and preventing real-world attacks.
We will be meeting at Capital Factory! The address is 701 Brazos St, Austin, TX 78701. When arriving at the building, the elevators are "unlocked" to go to this floor after 5:45 pm.
We know parking in Downtown is tricky!
So, you can park in the building garage for just $8.00 (validation parking tickets will be distributed)!
Street parking will still be an option. More information on parking here: https://www.capitalfactory.com/parking/
Thank you to Capital Factory for sponsoring Kubernetes Austin. Capital Factory is the center of gravity for entrepreneurs in Texas. They meet the best entrepreneurs in Texas and introduce them to their first investors, employees, mentors, and customers. To sign up for a Capital Factory membership, click here.
Kubernetes Runtime Security - Detecting and Preventing Real-World Attacks
While many teams focus on securing their Kubernetes clusters during deployment, runtime security often gets overlooked. This talk demonstrates real attack scenarios and shows how to implement practical runtime security measures to detect and prevent them. Through live demonstrations and real-world examples, we'll explore how to build a robust runtime security strategy that doesn't compromise application performance.
An entrepreneur's journey to build Kubernetes cluster in home Lab
Raghu is fascinated by Kubernetes, containers, microservices, and serverless. This session will describe the journey so far and his learnings to-date. Start with setting up servers, Ubuntu, Cilium, Hubble, Prometheus, Grafana, K8S dashboard, and Helm. Discuss simple test case from SpecRG benchmark related to e-commerce. Experience in testing Kubernetes vertical scaling, manual scaling, and auto-scaling. Objective of session to share tech findings and get feedback from the audience on Kubernetes.
