Talk #1

Get cracking with AWS Firecracker

Description:
Containers are everywhere. They allow rapid development of software, easy deployment with all your dependencies in one place and boot times in seconds rather than minutes. Why wouldn’t you throw out that crusty old VM? But ask any security conscious DevOps or SecOps engineer and they might miss their reliable old VM and the isolation it provided. Well, what if you could take the content of your Docker image, throw it into a VM and even get sub-second boot times? This is exactly what AWS Firecracker provides, if you are willing to take the time to understand it. In this talk we’ll take a look at what MicroVMs are, how they relate to containers and get a small taste of working with MicroVMs using Firecracker.

Talk #2
Developer Experience at Lunar: Crafting High-Efficiency Developer Workflows” by Kasper Hermansen, Lunar

Description:
Developer Experience is the new hot term on the block, brought to you by DX, at Lunar we’ve been practicing Developer Experience explicitly and implicitly as such in this talk I will give you a taste of of what it is, why it isn’t necessarily a new thing, how we build highly efficient developer workflows by aggressively focusing on our developers experience using our internal tools.

You will learn why our biggest compliment is:

Kubernetes manifests? I don’t even have to think about it: Some Lunar developer
