TALK #1:

SLSA, SigStore, SBOM, and Software Supply Chain Security. What does that all mean? by Abdel SGHIOUAR, Cloud Developer Advocate @ Google Cloud

Have you heard of SLSA, SBOM, or the new fuzzy word in the street, “Software Supply Chain Security'' before? Maybe yes, if you are an avid reader of some tech publications. But what does this all mean? Or rather, should you care? Well, the answer is it depends. In this talk, the speaker will attempt to clarify these words and what they mean and present a state of the security world with tools and methodologies people and organizations are implementing to ensure the software is secured from dev to production.

Bio:

Abdel Sghiouar is a senior Cloud Developer Advocate @Google Cloud. A co-host of the Kubernetes Podcast by Google and a CNCF Ambassador. His focused areas are GKE/Kubernetes, Service Mesh, and Serverless. Abdel started his career in data centers and infrastructure in Morocco, where he is originally from, before moving to Google's largest EU data center in Belgium. Then in Sweden, he joined Google Cloud Professional Services and spent five years working with Google Cloud customers on architecting and designing large-scale distributed systems before turning to advocacy and community work.

TALK #2

12 factor apps and beyond - a recipe for cloud native development? by Niels Wittrup Andersen, Software Pilot @ Trifork

Niels will touch upon what a 12 factor app is, and if the 12 factors are still relevant in this day and age.

Being formed by developers at Heroku more than 12 years ago, the 12 factors could be considered outdated and irrelevant today. If this is not the case, how do they relate to cloud native development, and how do we operationalize them.

Bio:

Niels Wittrup Andersen is an experienced Senior Application Architect and full stack developer with experience in building systems both for cloud and on-prem. He has more than 15 years of experience as an IT professional and more than 5 years experience building cloud native applications. In 2021 he joined Trifork Aalborg, and spends his days exploring new tech while helping customers find the best solution to fit their needs. When not flying high as a Software pilot at Trifork, he is also an active member of the CNCF community, as an organizer of meetups in the Aalborg branch.
