TALK #1:

"From zero to everything and the difficulties of deployment ownership" by Søren Schwartz, Senior Architect @ Netcompany

Description:

Together with Copenhagen Airport, Netcompany went into a joint venture which would replace old legacy airport systems - starting with Copenhagen's own.

We started from nothing and needed everything - kubernetes, tools for observability, security etc. and while setting all this up developers, platform engineers and domain experts needed to work smoothly together.

This talk will take your through topics like

  • Why just leveraging a nice tool doesn’t bring value without teaching
  • The learnings from scaling
  • Do what you are good at - why sometimes choosing managed services is a favorable solution
  • The difficulties of CD when the customer owns the deployment

Bio:

Søren works as software architect in Netcompany, and he has been part of the airport system project since the very beginning. As a developer, who is not only passionate about creating functional software, but also operational systems, Søren acts as bridge to the platform team, and sheds light on the DevOps practice from the development perspective.

Søren lives in the outskirts of Aarhus with his wife and two small kids.

TALK #2:

"Unleashing the Power of Kyverno: A Deep Dive into Kubernetes Policy Management" by Jinhong Brejnholt, Chief Cloud Architect and Product Owner @ Saxo Bank

Description:

Kyverno, as the absolute favourite security engine in Kubernetes, has gained a tremendous traction lately. In this talk, Jinhong will go through how Kyverno can help with enterprise security control, resource distribution, validation and much more. There will be real life examples, live demos, fun discussions and latest learning from the Amsterdam KubeCon & CloudNativeCon.

Bio:

Jinhong holds a MSc. in Software Development and she is certified Kubernetes application developer, administrator and security specialist. In her day job, Jinhong works as a hands on cloud architect and product owner, developing and maintaining the Kubernetes and Kafka clusters in collaboration with platform and application teams.

Jinhong is passionate about DevSecOps practice and cloud native technologies and her heart beats for a sustainable and compliant way of developing and managing applications and integrations.

She is also one of the CNCF Copenhagen organizers.
