TALK 1: What the hell is going on inside my containers? by Bruno Gabriel da Silva, Sysdig

Using the Falco Open Source tool, let’s explore what your application’s log doesn’t show, such as what is happening in tty. If someone has access to your container shell, they can download external malicious programs for an exploit or mine using its resources. We will see how simple it is to intercept these malicious actions and generate enriched events using Falco. It could also be a nice plus if you are studying for CKS.

BIO: Bruno Gabriel da Silva, Sysdig

I’m an ex-Sysadmin/DevOps who worked for eight years on Microsoft technologies when I had a snap that it was time for a new challenge, and I switched to “this cloud thing.” Starting my studies in AWS, I migrated to a DevOps position, where I changed from water to wine and started living 100% in open source. As I love sharing knowledge and teaching third parties, these led me to migrate to this position in which I work today at Sysdig.

TALK 2: Kafka at Scale, on Kubernetes

Apache Kafka is an ubiquitous part of most data stacks, yet many turn to SaaS solutions for their Kafka needs. In this deep dive we’ll explore how Unity uses the Strimzi operator to operate large scale kafka clusters, and the networking tricks that make it work.

BIO: Hans Arnholm, Unity

Hi, I’m Hans. I love open source and writing beautiful code. I’m a sucker for optimizing code and making it go fast. I’m mostly self-taught and knowledgeable in many fields, but DevOps and Backend are my favorites.

I volunteer for NPF, and build huge computer networks in my spare time, when I’m not playing computer games or with the family.
