Hi everyone,
To kick off the year, we have joined forces with our friends at Kubernetes Auckland Meetup and will be hosting an event on Thursday 15 February at the Microsoft NZ offices.
In the first session Jonas Felix (*) will walk us through building a pipeline using Argo CD and a GitOps pattern to continuously deploy applications on Kubernetes.
Our second speaker will be Marcel Medina who will talk about why general-purpose container images are not the future of cloud apps.
I will take a few minutes slot to share some information and updates in the community space about projects I am currently working on and CNCF updates!
Agenda:
17:30 - 18:00 - Pizza and drinks
18:00 - 19:30 - Talks
Chris Mazur
Jonas Felix
Marcel Medina
19:30 - 20:00 - Questions and discussion
Special thanks to Daniel Scott-Raynsford and the Microsoft NZ team for hosting us, and Control-Plane and Tetrate for sponsoring the meetup.
Hope to see you all again in a few weeks at our first 2024 meetup!
Thanks!
(*)Bio: Jonas Felix
In 1998 Jonas got a Linux CD as a random gift, which pulled him into the magical world of open source software engineering. In the 2000s, he developed one of the first social business platforms (similar to LinkedIn) and built a profitable software company, which he successfully sold in 2016. Since then, he continues to be involved in new companies and projects as a co-founder, investor, or strategic advisor. His heart, however, remains in hands-on coding and participation in open source projects. Since 2016, he has been leading the training and coaching provider Letsboot, where he regularly conducts courses and workshops himself. Jonas traveled all the way from Switzerland to Auckland to speak at our meetup
