Hello Berlin Kubernauts!
We are excited to invite you to the next Berlin K8s meetup. It has been a long summer filled with vacations, but now it is time to get back together. Ultra Tendency is going to host the group this month and we'll get to learn about Kubernetes from two of their software developers.
First on the program is Murtaza. He is going to present the talk: "Why Kubernetes? Kubernetes Basic and Advanced Objects." In this presentation Murtaza will provide a high-level overview of the most important components of K8s and how they fit together. He'll start with an overview of containers and orchestration highlighting what K8s is capable of. Then he will discuss K8s objects and concepts including pods, labels, deployments, services, namespaces, ingresses, and volumes.
In the second presentation, Shiyu will delve into some practical examples and demonstrate a few different things. He plans to deploy Kubernetes and run a simple Tomcat pod. He will then explain details about K8s architecture including the components that run on the master and worker nodes. He will finish by demonstrating how to setup a three-node cluster and, if time allows, present an example use case.
We didn't want to rush through three presentations in one meetup, so we'll look forward to having Alexey Novakov present: "Apache Spark on Kubernetes" at a future meetup. He will be attending this meetup though! If you have some burning questions about Spark that just can't wait, be sure to come talk with him.

Don't worry though, you'll have another opportunity to network with fellow Kubernauts very soon. We are already working on planning a meetup for October.
