We're very excited to host Lutz Lange, Solution Architect at Red Hat, and Felix Rodriguez.

7:00 - 7:45 - Lutz Lange, OpenShift and Ready to Use Kube Clusters - from Dev to Prod
7:45 - 8:30 - Felix Rodriguez, Kullecting All the Things
8:30 - 9:00 - Social / Wrap-up

Lutz (@AtomicContainer) studied Computer Science at TU-Berlin and worked as a Sysadmin in mixed Linux / Windows environments. He started as an Infrastructure IT Instructor with Red Hat back in 2007. He discusses use cases and customer requirements on a daily basis as a Red Hat Solution Architect, a role he fills since 2011. His main focus is now on Container Technologies.

Felix Rodriguez (@feelobot, GitHub) is a Devops Engineer and digital nomad currently working out of Berlin and absorbing all things Golang, Docker, Kubernetes. His focus is on Metrics, R&D and tools integration.

OpenShift is a Container Platform that builds on and extends Kubernetes. It gives you a Kube based cluster that is enhanced with several services and solutions to be ready for use in Dev and Prod environments. This starts with Source to Image build mechanisms and an internal registry, over to service discovery with dns, persistent storage and network config up to security mechanisms. It includes solutions to get to grips with Log Files and Metric data as well. This presentation will give an architecture overview and introduction to the OpenShift Container Platform. The presentation concludes with live demo and Q&A.

Kullecting All the Things : Felix will walk us through a set of deployments containing open source tools you can use to monitor nodes, pods, as well as a demo to setup a basic alert off of this data. He will also explore an interesting method, they took to providing estimates on which apps are costing the most to run.
