Hello Chicago Kubernauts!
We're excited to announce our February event!
First up, Will Newby is going to present "That's so meta: using Kubernetes and Metacontroller to manage everything else."
He will discuss Metacontroller, the Google Cloud Platform Open Source project. His talk covers how to deploy it, and how to program kubernetes-based controllers that use it to manage cluster-external (including 3rd party) resources. You'll walk away with a working example of the pattern.
Eva is going to present some information around autoscaling, more specifically an exploration of HPA + VPA settings and some best practices.
SPONSORED: Big thanks to NetApp, Sysdig and Tigera for their support!

Will is a longtime systems and networking nerd. He started out "deploying" IPX networks in a basement LAN for Advanced Star Crafting, and Complete Destruction and multi-user battling (playing StarCraft and Total Annihilation). Now he is a "plumber of the internet" and oversees SpotHero's Kubernetes infrastructure. Additionally he's been working on launching a Kubernetes-based hosting platform for digital agencies called Zentainer.
