There shall be a demo as well which shall demonstrate this.

02:15 PM - 02:40 PM - Zero Trust Security with Service Mesh- istio & linkerd - Speaker: Rohan Birtia (Staff Security Engineer)

Many SRE/DevOps teams use service mesh. But how can they use it for securing microservices?

Why implement zero-trust microservices architecture?

Levargaing Istio/linkerd for microservices security.

Implementing MTL, authentication authorization, and HTTP request control using service mesh.

02:45 PM - 03:05 PM - Inner Loop: Turbocharge your development workflow -Speaker: Srinivasa Vasu (Field Engineer @ Yugabyte)

Developers continue to be one of the most valuable resources of a company. The tools they use need to align with modern cloud native development practices while helping them be as productive and efficient as possible. In this session, we'll go over a practical demonstration of building a scalable cloud-native stack with Kubernetes and distributed Postgres and understand how these distributed systems can assist you in creating distributed apps quickly from scratch using a scaffolding accelerator that helps in accelerating the inner loop by taking the code from development to a running application in a few minutes.

03:10 PM - 03:40 PM - Building secure containers with buildpacks and SBOMs - ( Speaker: Avinash Upadhyaya K R ) ( Platform Engineer)

Cloud native buildpacks is the modern way of building OCI compliant container images. In this talk, we will explore buildpacks and use buildpacks for generating a Software Bill Of Materials to understand the dependencies used by an application. We will be using the pack CLI to build images with SBOM in the syft format and demonstrate the benefits of SBOMs in a cloud native world. We will also look at how buildpacks are different from Dockerfiles. The talk is meant to be a comprehensive guide to getting started with buildpacks and generating SBOMs with it.
