· 18:30-19:15. Testing Kubernetes networking with k6. Roberto Santalla (Senior Software Engineer at Grafana Labs)

In this talk, we will use k6 to perform load testing not on an application running on Kubernetes but on Kubernetes itself. We will walk through the bottlenecks and different layers of load balancing that network traffic goes through between the ingress IP and the application and optimize Kubernetes and its network plugins along the way.

· 19:15-20:00. Data Privacy and Application Security through Kubernetes Gateway Policies. Guilherme Cassolato (Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat) and Didier Di Cesare (Senior Software Engineer at Red Hat)..

Data Privacy and App Security are two major concerns related to system engineering and software applications often expressed by companies nowadays. Data Privacy for global operations usually translates to a multi-region/multi-cluster architecture, while the top concern in App Sec is mitigating against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks. To help tackle these issues, Kubernetes, API gateways, and Policies come into the scene. This session discusses an example system architecture that is cloud-based, essentially open source, and focused on the easy management of Kubernetes Gateway Policies for the multi-cluster environment.
