6:10- Road to Graduated: KEDA's Journey from its Beginnings- Jorge Turrado

Abstract:

Back in late 2018, a collaboration began to take shape in the offices of Microsoft and Red Hat. Out of these discussions emerged an open-source project aimed at filling an existing gap in Kubernetes auto-scaling: Event-driven scaling. As a result of this collaboration, KEDA (Kubernetes Event Driven Autoscaling) was born in 2019, aiming to become the event-driven auto-scaling model.

In this session, we will discuss this exciting journey leading up to its graduation within the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). During this talk, we will explore KEDA's fascinating path from its humble beginnings to becoming a renowned project in the Cloud Native community. We will analyze the challenges faced by the development team, the key contributions that drove its growth, and the process that led to adoption and certification by CNCF. An inspiring tale of how collaboration and innovation can take a project from idea to maturity in the open-source ecosystem. Join us to discover the story behind KEDA's success and how it has made a lasting impact on the world of Kubernetes and event-driven scaling automation!

6:40 Kubernetes Policy Enforcement: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly- Ole Lensmar

In the K8s world, we're all looking for the same result, deployments that are continuous, scalable, secure, and successful. In this talk, Ole Lensmar will take a look at how policies have been used to do this in the past, why they don't always work, and new approaches and tooling to help achieve deployment success.

7:00- Using Grafana for air-quality data and model monitorization- Andrea López Rodriguez - R&D AI and Monitorization Developer at ZYLK

Description: Presentation of the creation process of a web application developed by the company ZYLK based on open source software solutions for the AIRSAFE project. The aim of the application is to monitor the air quality measured inside a rehabilitation center located in Donostia, as well as observing the performance of an AI-based model responsible for predicting the levels of CO2 concentration within the facility. The steps followed and the different tools combined with Grafana to create the dashboards and the AI lifecycle management functionalities will be presented.

7:20- Better cost control in Kubernetes begins with understanding the actual resource utilization of your nodes.- Elie Assi- Senior Devops Architect, Kurago

Enter Kube Eagle, a Prometheus exporter designed to expose various metrics related to Kubernetes pods requests, limits, their real-time and historical usage. Its mission? To empower you with a comprehensive view of your cluster's resource usage, allowing the right-sizing of every allocation. In this presentation, we'll talk about how even a small footprint application like Kube Eagle can yield significant benefits.

7:40- Food and drink!
