About this event

We are excited to have our December Virtual CNCF Meetup with a great talk!

WebAssembly and Kubernetes! - Ralph Squillace, Prinicipal Product Manager @ Microsoft

Kubernetes is the JavaScript of orchestrators: you may not love it, but you use it and so does everyone else -- it’s darned useful! But the future cloud-native world is not going to be “on” hypsercale clouds -- the future chips are going to “circumference” or “peripheral” clouds. This is the famous “edge”, where the next 6-8 years are likely to see more than $1 trillion spent on CDN, private data centers, tons of gateways, and millions and billions of arduinos and raspberry-pis and risc-v SoCs are going to be doing everything from Home Assistant to industrial automation. Kubernetes doesn’t really function well here--or does it? This talk will describe how Kubernetes CAN be the core orchestrator for our future edge-overlords, why WebAssembly is likely to aid that usage, and will have tons of quick demos to show how it feels.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone before the end of 2022!
