About this event

We're happy to have talks about cutting edge technologies that have been getting a lot of attention lately. In the first talk, Stepan Maksimchuk will demonstrate how to use Operator SDK for building Kubernetes applications.

Are you a local group member working on some cool open source / cloud native project, we'd love to have you present. Submit your talk here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeXaeOiKv4SuRitvPDeN2xUTAGhl4l9HEXr6oNmnyu5EsS3Kw/viewform?usp=sf_link

Agenda:

6:30 - 7:00 - Gather, Sponsor time, Gifts.
7:00 - 8:30 - Operator SDK in Action - Stepan Maksimchuk, SRE, Plerion.
Operators make it easy to manage complex stateful applications on top of Kubernetes. However writing an operator today can be difficult because of challenges such as using low level APIs, writing boilerplate, and a lack of modularity which leads to duplication.
In his talk, Stepan going to create the brand new Operator, leveraging the power of Operator SDK: a framework that uses the controller-runtime library to make writing operators easier.
