Talks
6pm - 7pm: What is DevOps, Moritz Heiber

Is it flashy, unnecessary technology? Is it complicated job descriptions for people that are rarer than unicorn tears? Is it a chance for service companies to thrive on existential organizational problems of their clients? Join Moritz Heiber for discovering what DevOps is not, what it truly is, what it can be for you.
Moritz works as a DevOps Birth Assistant at ThoughtWorks consulting on infrastructural and operational challenges in distributed computing environments, using the power and the values behind the idea of DevOps with the help of focused collaboration, cross-functional teams and pair programming. He loves building things on Linux, especially in clouds, likes reliable infrastructure as code, descriptive provisioning tools and statically typed programming languages.

7pm - 8pm: Azure Kubernetes Service Basics, Nico Meisenzahl

Containerized applications have become tremendously important in our everyday life. Learn everything about Kubernetes and how you can run it in the Azure Cloud. In this talk, Nico will explain how Kubernetes works and how it can help to run Containers in production. You will learn everything about Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Registry and Azure Container Instances.
Nico Meisenzahl works as Senior Cloud & DevOps Consultant at white duck GmbH. He is a Microsoft MVP, Docker Community Leader and GitLab Hero. His is passionate about the topics around Kubernetes, CI/CD, Automation, DevOps, and Cloud. Nico is a frequent speaker at conferences, user group events and Meetups in Europe and the United States.

8pm - 9pm: Remote Kubernetes development with Telepresence, Florian Aßmus

Everyone knows the issue. There are too many microservices to run all of them on your local machine for development. Most of the time you are changing only one service anyhow. You will see how Telepresence enables you to pick a single service from your remote Kubernetes deployment and start developing on your local machine.
Florian has a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt and 15+ years of experience in professional software development. He is leading the Cloud Initiative at PRODYNA and is actively involved in applying cloud native technologies to solve customers’ most demanding IT challenges.

9pm - 10pm: Owning a Kubernetes Cluster, Leon Albers

The more popular containers become in corporate use, the greater the risk of directed attacks using this vector. Protective measures must also be taken, even if a certain baseline of security has already been established through SaaS or PaaS services such as AKS. Therefore, Leon will show which protective measures and tools you can use to counter the greatest threats. In his presentation he will show you the consequences of bad security and explain why a good security concept is absolutely necessary.
Leon Albers (Security Specialist at Inovex) deals with a variety of topics in the IT-Security field. In various projects he improved safety and security of modern DevSecOps platforms.
