Doors open at 17:30 for food, drinks and mingle. Sessions start at 18:00!
Speakers will be Sohan Maheshwar and Mateus Gomes de Toledo. Sohan will talk about authorization in Kubernetes by using SpiceDB and Mateus will take us on Fabled's journey in the authentication landscape and how they ended up with Zitadel.
After the talks we stay at Fabled for a while and then we will head of to a pub in the neighborhood.
Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) publishes a "Top 10 Security Risks for Web Apps" list and guess what currently sits at the top of this list: Broken authorization.
This talk will start with the importance of Authorization, and establishes the problems with the status quo. Also covered are the core concepts behind Relationship-Based Access Control aka ReBAC, and SpiceDB - a mature and widely adopted open source ReBAC system inspired by the system internally powering Google services: Zanzibar. The talk will conclude with a demo of how to model real-world systems with SpiceDB and then deploy it on to Kubernetes for global-scale authorization in your application.
Mateus will guide us along the journey that Fabled has taken when exploring the landscape of authentication tools. He will show what they have discovered, compare with other tools and describe how it fits their needs and what problems they have run into and how they ended up with Zitadel.
