About this event
This inaugural event promises an exciting lineup of talks for the HCMC cloud-native community. After a warm welcome and a word from our host, Trần Quốc Sang opens with a deep dive into the rapid advancements discussed at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon. Thang Chung follows with an innovative session on WebAssembly/WASI and Kubernetes. Vu Dinh Phong offers insights into integrating cloud providers with Kubernetes. The event crescendos with Henry Vu's talk on the critical role of platform teams in DevOps. The evening caps off with pizzas, beers, and vibrant discussions, celebrating the community's first of many gatherings.

Better together: A Dapr on Kubernetes and WebAssembly/WASI Apps - Thang Chung
WebAssembly/WASI has been gaining traction in recent years. With a framework like Spin, we can develop, deploy, and run WASM/WASI as serverless apps on the Fermyon platform, otherwise, we can also deploy and run it on Kubernetes. But to leverage the power of the existing ecosystem in the container world, we need to have a way to reuse CNCF components and frameworks such as Dapr, KEDA, and more.
In this talk, I will walk you through the WASM/WASI landscape, and how to develop, run, and deploy WASM/WASI apps with Dapr on Kubernetes.
About the speaker:
Thang is a Technical Manager at NashTech Vietnam and Microsoft Azure MVP. He is a creator of the Vietnam Microservices Group with over 11k members.

Integrate cloud provider into kubernetes using controller plugin - Vu Dinh Phong
The Cloud Controller Manager (CCM) is a component in Kubernetes that is designed to separate the cloud infrastructure-specific code from the core Kubernetes codebase. It provides several benefits to Kubernetes clusters running in cloud environments such as “Modularity and Extensibility”, “Easier Cloud Provider Support”, “Reduced Kubernetes Code Complexity”, “Scalability and Performance”, “Resource Auto-Scaling”. How does specific cloud provider do it? I want to share my experience in integrating cloud provider’s power into Container Orchestration as Kubernetes using controller plugin. This experience can also apply to support cloud provider in multi-cloud opensource.

Building Trust: The Role of Platform Teams in Elevating DevOps - Henry Vu
This session explores the pivotal role of platform teams in enhancing developer productivity and fostering trust across engineering departments. It's not just about introducing cutting-edge tools from the CNCF landscape; it's about understanding that at the heart of software development are the developers themselves. The presentation will share strategies on how platform teams can judiciously select and integrate projects from the CNCF, ranging from monitoring stacks to deployment strategies, thus ensuring a blend of innovation and reliability. Attendees will learn how trust is earned through deliberate choices that support and streamline the developers' work, reinforcing that DevOps transcends mere tooling.
