Markus Gierlinger - Adversary Emulation for Kubernetes Environments

The CNCF ecosystem has a lot of amazing tools for all kinds of use cases. Security is no exception. With plenty of options to choose from, it can be a challenge to pick the right one(s). Especially in security the choice can be daunting, because the the tools show it's biggest value when things get real and they are being targeted by an adversary.

The biggest challenge when picking the right security tool is finding out, what proves to be useful when things go sideways.

This talk explores what common runtime protection tools are and how adversary emulation can put these tools to the test in a "realistic" attack scenario.
