πŸ‘‰ Here's a sneak peek of the agenda:

18:30: Check-in and welcome drinks

19:00: 🎀 "Hybrid Storage Solution with AWS Storage Gateway" by André Vidigal, Cloud Consultant at TecRacer | AWS Certified LinkedIn

Abstract: Learn how to extend your on-prem storage with AWS Storage Gateway, and harvest the power of S3 transfer speeds and storage space, without the need for a big migration to the cloud. Real case scenario, from client request to a final solution.

19:30: 🎀 "How it started, how's it going: A decade of Kubernetes" by Frederico Munáz, Cloud & Architecture Lead at SAS & Kubernetes 1.31 Release Lead Team and CNCF Ambassador

Abstract: The Kubernetes project recently had its 10th anniversary, and there's no better excuse for taking a look back into the rich history of the project. Major milestones, growing pains, epic victories, hard-learned lessons, the history of Kubernetes is all of that, but it's also (or especially) the history of the community behind it. Taking inspiration from Carl Sagan's words - you have to know the past to understand the present - we will explore this history and, through it, the growth of the cloud-native ecosystem to this day.

20:00: 🎀"Architecting Resilient Cloud Native Applications: A Practical Guide to Deployment and Runtime Patterns" by Ricardo Castro, Principal Engineer at Blip and DevOps Porto Organizer

Abstract: In the dynamic and ever-evolving world of cloud-native applications, resilience is paramount. This talk delves into a comprehensive toolkit of deployment and runtime patterns, equipping you with the knowledge to design and implement resilient systems that can withstand and gracefully recover from disruptions. Explore strategies like blue/green, canary, and dark launches for seamless deployment, and master techniques like timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, bulkheads, and rate limiting to ensure your applications remain operational under duress. Join us as we navigate the intricacies of cloud-native resilience and empower you to build robust, fault-tolerant applications that deliver exceptional user experiences.

20:30 - 22:00: Networking, Snacks, and Drinks πŸ»πŸ•

We're also thrilled to announce that this meetup will feature surprises, as we introduce the first Kubernetes Community Day (KCD) Portugal, which will be held in Porto - more info here: KCD Porto 2024!! We will present tickets, the Call for Papers (CfP), and other information. The entire organizing team will be present!
