About this event

We're rounding off 2017 with the last Cloud Native London meetup of the year!

James, Adnan and Nick will be our guides, exploring the life of cloud native organisations, digging deep into GPU-accelerated workloads and understanding Istio.

As it's the holiday season, we'll also be providing some rather special food, drinks and general merriment, thanks to our sponsors StorageOS, Tecknuovo, Contino and Skills Matter.

Cloud Native London won't be back until February, so make sure to get your slot now! You will need to RSVP to our venue too: https://skillsmatter.com/meetups/10456-cloud-native-london-december-2017

Cloud Native Organisations (James Stewart)

When we talk about "cloud native" we are usually talking about a set of tools that let us build applications that really take advantage of the power of the cloud. But what are the lessons we can draw from this for how we think about our organisations, and how do we spread this power out to those who aren't directly building applications?

Running GPU-accelerated workloads on Kubernetes (Adnan Abulhussein, Bitnami)

Adnan Abdulhussein is a Software Engineer at Bitnami, where he works on tools to make apps easier to run on Kubernetes. He works deeply with the Kubernetes community as a co-lead of SIG-Apps and core maintainer of Kubernetes Charts. Adnan is passionate about running apps in containers, developer tools & experience, open source and the possibility of time travel. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Bristol.

What is Istio? (Nick Joyce, RealKinetic)

Istio is a service mesh to connect, manage and secure services running on Kubernetes. We discuss some of the core concepts of Istio and how adopting a service mesh can help you reduce development time, be more resilient to outages and aid in debugging a micro-service environment.

Nick Joyce is a partner at Real Kinetic where he helps clients build and scale for the cloud. Nick is passionate about all things 'DevOps' and making it simpler/faster to get code in front of customers as quickly as possible.
