Auditing with eBPF (Luke Addison, Jetstack)
eBPF (extended Berkeley Packet Filter) is a powerful Linux Kernel technology that allows user space code to be run on an in-kernel virtual machine. This talk will introduce eBPF at a high level, some of its more common uses and go into detail on a specific eBPF program designed to record all shell sessions on a Linux machine. The talk will end with a demonstration of how this program can be deployed on Google Kubernetes Engine to replay container shell sessions and gain new insights into activity across the cluster.

Luke is a Linux and Kubernetes systems engineer with a keen interest in understanding how technologies work from the ground up. He joined Jetstack about a year ago as a Solutions Engineer and have spent that time training and advising customers on how to get the most out of Kubernetes at scale, as well as contributing to the open source ecosystem. Ballerina - a Cloud Native Programming Language (Paul Fremantle, WSO2)
Cloud native programming inherently involves working with remote endpoints: microservices, serverless, APIs, WebSockets, SaaS apps and more. Ballerina is a new programming language that is designed to bring code-first agility to the challenge of integrating across endpoints. Ballerina has first-class support for distributed transactions, circuit-breakers, stream processing, data-access, JSON, XML, gRPC and many other distributed computing approaches. It deploys directly onto Docker and Kubernetes. It integrates with common IDEs including IntelliJ and Visual Studio Code. There will be a demo.

Paul Fremantle is the CTO and co-founder of WSO2. Paul has a long history of working in open source and middleware and has been a member of Apache for over 10 years. His Twitter is @pzfreo.

Advanced analysis of container security (Jesus Escolar, Exelerys)
This talk covers: Advanced analysis of container security. Troubleshooting container security methods. Existing advanced attacks on containers. How to provide advanced protection on containers.

Jesus Escolar is CEO of EXELERYS, an emerging start-up fighting cybersecurity threats through multiple consolidated services and solutions portfolio across EMEA. He has intervened in multiple events including Cloud Expo Europe, ISACA, InfoSec to provide an holistic view on the actual and future view on threat intelligence, where problems and solutions for known and unknown issues where addressed and discussed. Prior to founding EXELERYS, Jesus was working actively with security vendors worldwide providing enablement and education across the different security issues the corporations faced, working closely with different cross-department teams for years building active solutions for their enterprise customers.
