How works the infrastructure for the infrastructure? A view into Kubernetes’ inner workings.

A large part of the digital world relies on Kubernetes, but on what relies Kubernetes? Let's dive into the world of SIG-K8S-INFRA, the special interests group for maintaining repositories, registries and the build server. We will discover, what happened in the last two years when we move of single cloud into multi cloud. See the challenges to face as you move different parts without downtime and how to keep a budget in an Open Source Project. Additionally we will take a look at the inner workings of the Kubernetes project. See similarities and differences to enterprise projects and get a glimpse where you could help even if you are not a Go developer.

### TALK 2 - David Leitner - Chief Technologist @ SQUER

Containerless Kubernetes in a Multi-Cloud World

In today's cloud landscape, embracing a multi-cloud approach is essential to mitigate reliance on a single hyperscaler. However, deciding where to leverage each cloud provider's strengths and where to maintain independence is a critical consideration. Containerless Kubernetes, utilizing Distroless images or even WebAssembly, offers a lightweight solution for efficient multi-cloud strategies. This allows organizations to dynamically shift workloads between hyperscalers based on ecological and economic considerations, optimizing performance and cost, and ultimately adapt flexibly to evolving needs and seize opportunities across diverse cloud environments.
