Operational and Business Insights from Tracing Distributed Microservices - Juraci Paixão Kröhling, Red Hat
In this talk we will present Hawkular APM, an OpenTracing-compliant community project. We will demonstrate how the project can be used to monitor microservices in a cloud environment, capturing trace and business metric information, which can then be presented in both aggregated and individual trace views to provide useful insight for many roles within an organisation.
About the speaker: Juraci is a software developer working at Red Hat on the Hawkular project.
Automated distributed tracing – why you need to make it a first-class citizen of monitoring - Alois Mayr, Dynatrace
In this talk you will learn how monitoring can be made a platform feature to help application teams monitoring their microservices and the interaction with other teams’ services. Automatic tracing of distributed services is a key feature for understanding the big picture of complex microservice environments. We will explain why automatic discovery of dependencies across cluster nodes, containers and microservices is vital to pinpoint the root cause of degraded application response times and failure rates.
About the speaker: Alois is technology lead at Dynatrace and working on bringing full-stack monitoring to cloud native platforms.
