CNPDX October: Compliance & Configuration

Portland

Oct 12, 2018, 1:00 – 3:30 AM

In-person event

About this event

We will have not one, not two, but three things for our October meetup:

First, organizer Josh Berkus will present a lightning talk on what's in the recently released Kubernetes 1.12 and why you might want to upgrade.

Then meeting host New Relic's staff Matt Dennison and Seth Pellegrino will present on "Configuration Management with Kubernetes at New Relic"

Description: Machine converge tools are making a comeback thanks to Kubernetes tooling. The ecosystem allows for a composable agent and operator pair to apply the principles of level triggered reconciliation to machine states. Come hear about our take on this problem and the tools we built to solve it.

Finally, Ryan Rich of Datica will present on "Achieving HIPAA & GDPR compliance on Kubernetes"

Description: Achieving compliance is more than just installing a logging stack and implementing a few monitoring alerts. In this talk I will discuss the intricacies of achieving compliance in the cloud and how Kubernetes and the CNCF ecosystem play a part.

This meetup is hosted by New Relic, who will also be providing refreshments.
