6:00 PM	🔍 "What Can We Learn from Formula 1 Incident Management"	🎙 Speaker: Ricardo Castro, Senior Principal Engineer @ Blip / Fanduel Abstract: "How can software and SRE teams learn about incident management from Formula 1? This talk will discuss the key takeaways from a real-life incident where Red Bull Racing performed a miraculous repair on Max Verstappen’s car in Hungary, turning a potential disaster into a podium finish.  July 18th 2020, Max Verstappen qualifies 7th for the Hungarian Grand Prix. With Red Bull fighting Mercedes for the Constructor’s championship and Max fighting Lewis Hamilton and Vallteri Bottas for the Driver’s Championship, this wasn’t his best qualifying session.July 19th 2020, during the formation lap, Max crashed his car, damaging his front wing and suspension. In the next 22 minutes, Red Bull mechanics performed an absolute miracle.How did they do it? How did they go from a crashed car to giving Max a chance to fight for a podium in under 23 minutes? And what can we learn about incident management from one of the most demanding engineering disciplines in the world?"

But behind every Pod stands a human being navigating their own cycles of growth, transition, and sometimes the need to “terminate” old roles or beliefs. This talk explores the parallels between Kubernetes’ workloads and our hidden emotional landscapes, diving into concepts like work grief, unspoken longings for purpose, and the psychological complexities of leadership and vulnerability."
