За темата: Migrating from Prometheus to VictoriaMetrics

Последните години като доказан туул за мониторинг стоеше Prometheus, който със сравнително лесния си сетъп и менажиране нямаше конкуренти. Проблемите с него идват, когато започваме да пазим повече метрики (time series), като алокираното ни място за тях расте експоненциално, а при нужда от тежки заявки за recording/alerting правила минаваме границите на нормалното за памет и процесорно време. Като решение на проблемите се появява - VictoriaMetrics с по- добър compaction на данните и менажиране на ресурсите.

Добромир Стефанов:

8+ години опит в IT сферата 7 от тях са в областта на Системната администрация и DevOps. Бакалавър Компютърно и Софтуерно инженерство в Технически университет - София. Последните години се занимава усилено с мониторинг и в частност софтуер за събиране и агрегиране на метрики.OSS Ентусиаст и може да нареди Кубчето на Рубик за 20 секунди.

Real-time Data Processing with Kafka: A Kubernetes-Native Approach:

In the dynamic business world, an essential requirement is the ability to reliably process data at a large scale in real time. From mission-critical areas like health care, finance, automotive, and space exploration to IT infrastructure observability, Machine Learning, and building distributed Cloud Native applications, Apache Kafka offers a scalable, reliable, performant, and fault-tolerant solution for dynamically processing massive amounts of data.

We'll delve into Apache Kafka Architecture 101 and some core concepts like producers and consumers, delivery semantics, data processing using Kafka streams, and the integration between Kafka and third-party systems using Kafka Connect, Kafka Exporter, and Kafka Bridge. Then, we'll see how to use the Strimzi Kafka Operator for Kubernetes, a CNCF incubating project, to deploy and manage Kafka on Kubernetes in Production.
