TiDB is a cloud-native, distributed SQL database powered by TiKV. TiDB Cloud is a fully-managed service for TiDB. Users can deploy, expand, and manage TiDB clusters with a few clicks on the TiDB Cloud web console. At the same time, TiDB will be responsible for managing daily operation, high availability, cluster upgrades, and disaster recovery. TiDB Cloud supports multiple cloud vendors. You can currently use TiDB Cloud on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Soon, we will support Azure as well.
In this livestream, Hanlin Shi will introduce TiDB Cloud and then discuss the evolution of its architecture. He will also summarize the lessons his team learned from building a multi-cloud managed Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS).
