In fine-grained authorization, balancing eventual consistency with strong consistency remains a challenge. While Google Zanzibar-influenced systems like OpenFGA focus on correctness and strong consistency, Policy-as-Code tools like OPA traditionally prioritize decision verification over strict consistency. In this talk, I'll demonstrate how to use the open-source tool OPAL to set up OPA in a way that supports both eventual and strong consistency, achieving both correctness and reliable decision verification.
