About this event

At the edge, there are a variety of sensors, controllers, and MCU class devices that are producing data and performing actions. However, many of these leaf devices are too small to run Kubernetes themselves. Akri is a CNCF Sandbox Project that exposes these leaf devices as resources in a Kubernetes cluster. It provides a standard way to connect devices to a cluster and manage devices from a cluster. It abstracts away the work of finding, using, and managing leaf devices.

Akri’s latest release adds support for deploying Kubernetes Jobs (single-task Pods) to leaf devices. Now, Akri can enable more short-term interactions between workloads and devices, opening the door to easier IoT device management scenarios such as firmware updates.

This webinar will provide background on Akri while also highlighting the functionality of its latest release through a demo of performing a firmware upgrade of an IP camera with Akri.
