Talk 1: Version after version, how Kubernetes sig-release manages release cycles

As a member of the Kubernetes Release Team for a long time, and leading v1.26, has taught me a lot about the release process. It’s complicated, but it works! It will give you a good look at how the release team archives this difficult organization and coordination work. What do the inner workings of one of the biggest open-source projects out there look like? We will touch on that. We will also talk about how to get started contributing to the Kubernetes community.


Leonard Pahlke


Leonard is a CNCF Ambassador and chair of the TAG Environmental Sustainability, previously the Kubernetes Release Lead for v1.26 and in general passionate about software, cloud, open source and sustainability related things.

Talk 2: Building a green supercomputer in the cloud

A case study implementing a carbon aware high-performance compute (HPC) cluster running wind turbine simulations for Vestas. Using the principals of green software and cloud scalability to design a solution that can to scale to 400k cores and multiple petabytes of data. Using open-source tools, UX, and data to lower carbon emissions.

Anders Lybecker


I am a digital transformation expert with a focus on company transformation founded in cloud computing adoption. My toolset is modern processes and practices in collaboration with modern cloud architectures. I have a good all-round ability to juggle projects and meet deadlines even when handling complex problems and interdependent business processes. Experienced in motivating and guiding project teams to succeed.

I am an advocate for cloud adoption. Frequent speaker at conferences and an active part of the tech community. I have arranged development camps, talks and taught classes for large enterprises like KMD, NNIT and DR. I enjoy speaking and teaching as sharing passion and knowledge for a subject is personally rewarding.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and sports activities – such as trail running, fitness, climbing, scuba diving and dancing salsa.
