## "KUDO - Kubernetes Operators, the easy way" by Nick Jones, Community Engineer at Mesosphere

Kubernetes Operators are the next phase of the journey towards automating complex applications in containers. The KUDO project introduces an easy way to build Kubernetes operators using declarative YAML. Many Operators that exist today handle initial deployment, but they don’t provide automation for tasks like binary upgrades, configuration updates, and failure recovery. Implementing a production-grade controller for a complex workload typically requires thousands of lines of code and many months of development. As a result, the quality of operators that are available today varies. The KUDO project provides a universal operator to enable automated creation of operators for Kubernetes, in most cases just using YAML. In this talk, I’ll introduce the KUDO project, and demo the creation of a Kubernetes operator using KUDO.

In this talk Endre will go through and take a look at TietoEVRY's Data Driven Services (DDS) ongoing journey to a Cloud Native Architecture. Endre will give an overview of what has worked, what has not worked, and where they we now and where they go forwards. In this talk you will see that it is often not the technical part that can are hard, but the people parts when trying to build a better way to move faster and more reliably.

## "Infrastructure as code with Pulumi" by Øyvind Randa, NextGenTel

Pulumi is a multi-language and multi-cloud development platform. It lets you create all aspects of your cloud as code in many known programming languages. This has many advantages like a familiar DSL and gives the possibility to build abstractions with the full power of the language you choose. In this talk I will give you and quick overview of what Pulumi is and how it is different from other tools.
