After a smashing and crowded meetup at Sanoma and shortly after the very first edition of Kubernetes Community Day Amsterdam 2019 (https://cloudnative.amsterdam) we're back in business..ahem, the community with another great meetup.
EVBox is the host this time and the agenda is as follows (please do tell us if you want to give a quick, 5 minutes lighting talk, we got you covered!):
5.30 Doors open - Doors close by 6.20 so be on time!
6.00 Introduction by EVBox
6.15 First talk:
Alex Chircop
Cloud Native Storage and StorageOS
In this talk we will discuss cloud native storage technologies and how they integrate with K8s in orchestrated workloads. We will be covering an overview of the cloud native storage landscape as defined in the CNCF Storage Landscape Whitepaper, including comparing the different architectural approaches and designs in terms of key attributes like availability, scalability, performance, data consistency, durability, fault tolerance, ease of development and operational complexity. We will then explain how StorageOS fits into this landscape and how you can use StorageOS to run stateful workloads in K8s.
7.00 Pizza and beer
7.25 Second talk:
Sergey Parhomenko:
"Monitoring Kubernetes clusters in Google Kubernetes Engine "
In this talk we will share our experience of migration to a Kubernetes cluster running on Google Kubernetes Engine: why we did it, what went wrong, and lessons we learned along the way. We will focus on our experience with monitoring and give an overview of the Kubernetes monitoring architecture and the current landscape of tools for gathering, storing, visualizing and acting on monitoring metrics in Kubernetes clusters inside and outside of Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.
8.10 Lightning talk
8.45 Meetup closing speech
9.00 Office closes
