We have not met for a while, so we decided to make a (slightly premature) new years resolution to create events more often! We are kicking off this renewed effort with Alessandro Voza, currently a Technical Evangelist from Microsoft. We are meeting at Fixico's brand new office, as they were kind enough to let us use their space.
So come relax with the community after work, have some beers and some food, and check out Alessandro's demo before the holiday season!
UPDATE: Alessandro will be joined by Chris Vugrinec, a Cloud Solution Architect, also from Microsoft
What we know so far:
DATE: Thursday, December 15th
Alessandro started working with Linux and Open source back in 1999 while studying for his degree in Chemistry. After his Ph.D., he choose to pursue a career in IT and covered many roles and position, lastly landing as Technical Evangelist for Microsoft, specializing in DevOps, containers and Azure.Alessandro is active in various communities and meetups (he started the DevOps and Openstack meetups in Amsterdam) and he's passionate about all cutting edge techs, including AI, IoT, and bots.
As a developer and integration specialist I developed a preference to work on open source solutions. As a former owner of a hosting company I decided never to see the inside of a datacenter again.Currently I am working as a Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, my goal is to enable customers to land on Azure and enable them in doing cool stuff.
TOPIC: Kubernetes in Azure (talk & demo)
Kubernetes supports Azure since the 1.4 release and we’ll show how to quickly and efficiently create, scale and operate a cluster in the Microsoft cloud; we’ll discuss also the implementation of the open source Azure Container Service (https://github.com/azure/acs-engine) for deploying container orchestrators. I’ll show also some nifty tricks with Visual Studio Code (the free code editor) to manage your clusters right from the comfort of your editor.
