In-person event

About this event

We're back before the summer break with another meetup hosted this time by the kind folks at NMBRS (https://www.nmbrs.com/). Stay tuned as we fixed the agenda with two great speakers (Hashiconf is in town and we're talking to some of the speakers there to come by) and an introduction to the NMBRS platform by Leon Bedaux, COO.

Talks:

Julian Jay Roux - Instruqt: The online interactive IT learning platform

We will be having an honest look at Instruqt business plan and how nearly two months of market research is throwing light on the reality of learning in tech. We will be looking deeply at the survey he has designed and collected on-site at some important tech conferences - discussing what extrapolations we can make from the data in an honest no-nonsense way.

Dan Acristini - Kubernetes the fun way

Dan will bring his portable kubernetes cluster and show you how to build your own: from bootstrapping an Arm64 Kubernetes cluster using Rancher's K3s to running ceph on usb flash drives.

Pieter Lange - A kubernetes failure story [lightning talk]

Pieter tries to make us all share our failure stories at the kubernetes addict support group, but this time he shares a "fun" failure story with the larger community himself. Stuff involved: CRD's and operators, etcd, the APIserver.

Bio:
Julian Jay Roux, CMO @ Instruqt
Julian is CMO of Instruqt, an in-browser labs platform for IT technology. Before starting at Instruqt, he was a marketing manager working at the intersection of digital marketing strategy, design research and public participation. He strongly believes that prosumers are the future and users need to be involved deeply and early on in the creative process of any project.

With Instruqt, he’s working towards getting the fly-wheel community participation and engagement going. His mission is to facilitate the engineer to engineer knowledge-sharing culture that already exists and launch Instruqt’s open-platform as the world’s foremost tech learning community.

Dan Acristini, Head R&D @ Kryha
Dan works at Kryha, an enterprise-focused startup where his main roles are to automate pipelines and manage kubernetes clusters. Kryha won multiple international hackathons with novel ideas regarding the interactions of blockchain and swarm robotics as well as off-chain computation. Some of their clients include Shell, Kingdom of the Netherlands and others.

Pieter Lange, Techie @ Fullstaq
Pieter organises the kubernetes addicts support group and has been an early adopter of kubernetes. He moves around to support different organisations with their cloud native and devops related problems.
