OpenShift is Red Hat's answer to Platform-as-a-Service.

v3, introduced last summer, is a complete rewrite based on Docker and Kubernetes embedded.

In this talk Samuel will show you the differences / added enterprise features of OpenShift on top of Kubernetes, like Charts vs Templates & Ingress vs Router. He will demo running a Kubernetes apps in an OpenShift cluster and explain the developer workflow of OpenShift.

Samuel Terburg is a dutch freelance Cloud & DevOps Specialist.

Since last year he was Red Hat's OpenShift specialist Solution Architect implementing OpenShift in all of Europe.

Red Hat has introduced Project Atomic which is a lightweight operation system that is based on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and has Docker and Kubernetes as first class citizens. This allows organisations that already use RHEL to easier switch to Project Atomic.
We are currently running Project Atomic in production with Twyp. Twyp is a startup peer-to-peer payment application powered by the ING, it was released in multiple countries and it has a fast growing userbase.
By using Project Atomic, we have been able to use Docker and Kubernetes in production in an enterprise environment (within the ING Bank).
This session will explain how to use Docker and Kubernetes with Project Atomic, the best practices we had by using it (with Twyp), and how other organisations can use Project Atomic.
