Abstract: In this talk I present the results and solutions from building a container-based compute cloud with Kubernetes at the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg to serve 1000+ concurrent users. The cluster is being used in courses by teachers and students as well as in academic research projects. Specific topics of this talk are why we chose to use a single cluster, how Authentication, Authorization and Admission are solved, what we did in terms of Usability, how we manage our Storage and how we handle dynamic resource scaling from available pool hardware.
