As we know, observability nowadays comes in many flavors. Metrics, profiling, and tracing are potent signals in the cloud-native ecosystem. Concepts like improved performance, scalability, debuggability, security, alerting, and QoS is the tip of the iceberg. Correlating signals together is challenging, given the many shapes and collection points. Aside from metrics, we have logs, traces, or even continuous profiling.
In this talk, after a quick overview of the observability landscape in the CNCF ecosystem, Kemal will show an example application that demonstrates end-to-end ways to correlate multiple observability backends for enhanced observability and monitoring experience using Prometheus and Jaeger and continuous profiling using the open-source Parca project.

Hey, I'm Kemal. I am a reasoned Cloud-Native Open-Source Software Infrastructure Engineer (currently @PolarSignals) who works on Observability, Monitoring, and Performance Engineering. And I'm one of the maintainers of the Prometheus, Thanos, and Parca projects.
I've built Linux observability tools for software and reliability engineers for the past few years. I'm deeply invested…
