Kubernetes Community Days Chennai (KCD Chennai) 2022 is a community-organized event supported by the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) to help grow and sustain the Kubernetes and cloud-native community. It gathers adopters and technologists from open source and cloud-native communities for education, collaboration and networking.
Namma Chennai (friendly name of Chennai) has a growing group of Cloud Native enthusiasts, students, professionals and technology leaders. KCD Chennai offers a platform for this community to come together and connect with other Cloud Native communities in India and neighbouring countries. It provides an opportunity to experience conferences like KubeCon / CloudNativeCon together with the rich cultural heritage of Namma Chennai. We are excited and looking forward to building a thriving Cloud Native hub in Chennai.

Liz Rice is Chief Open Source Officer with eBPF specialists Isovalent, creators of the Cilium cloud native networking, security and observability project. She was Chair of the CNCF's Technical Oversight Committee 2019-2022, and Co-Chair of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon in 2018. She is also the author of Container Security, published by O'Reilly.
She has a wealth of software development, team, and product management experience from working on network protocols and distributed systems, and in digital technology sectors such as VOD, music, and VoIP. When not writing code, or talking about it, Liz loves riding bikes in places with better weather than her native London, and competing in virtual races on Zwift.
Norman Sequeira has over 21 years of experience in Microsoft across the consulting and Azure CSA (Cloud Solution Architect) teams and has worked with customers in IT/Retail/startup sectors to build scalable, enterprise applications leveraging Microsoft technologies. Norman currently leads a team of Cloud Solution Architects focused on helping customers modernize and build applications for the cloud.
Uma Mukkara is currently the head of Chaos Engineering at Harness. Earlier, Uma co-founded ChaosNative and MayaData companies where he co-created open source projects Litmus and OpenEBS. He is an active maintainer of the popular CNCF chaos engineering project LitmusChaos. Uma is a regular speaker on the subject of Chaos Engineering and cloud native DevOps at various conferences in the recent past. He is passionate about building solutions around resilience through chaos testing in cloud native space. He is a regular speaker in events, meetups and conferences related to SREs, reliability and Chaos Engineering.
Uma holds a Masters degree in Telecommunications and software engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from S.V.University, Tirupati, India.
Abhimanyu Selvan is the Developer Advocate at Red Kubes. He is a software generalist who has worked in industries such as aerospace, robotics, e-health and has landed in the cloud-native realm. His focus lies in the intersection of maximising developer productivity and enhancing business values. He is an open-source enthusiast and is currently leading the developer experience programme of the otomi-core project. Outside of work, he enjoys endurance running and cycling.
Akshat Khanna is an MTS Intern at VMware and a Final Year student pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. He is currently working on Kubernetes solution for the edge location and also has been contributing to open-source. Avik Kundu is a Software Engineer at Red Hat. He is a full-stack developer, opensource contributor, and tech content creator proficient in DevOps and Cloud. He has 2 years of experience with a focus on Container Orchestration and Continous Delivery. He has written articles and tutorials on various tools and technologies and has given talks on cloud-native technologies in various communities.
As Architect of the Kruize project, Dinakar is focused on Autonomous Performance Tuning and exploring the usage of ML and Hyper Parameter Optimization in the Performance domain specific to Kubernetes and Cloud. Dinakar previously worked on making the OpenJ9 JVM run more efficiently in the cloud and was the official maintainer of the AdoptOpenJDK Docker Images. Dinakar loves OpenSource, Astronomy and Volleyball and is a prolific speaker at conferences.

Jehoszafat Zimnowoda is an Engineering Manager at Red Kubes. He aims to empower DevOps teams by listening to them and providing the autonomous environment that they need. He is specialized in building software for different engineering teams - from system platforms for telecom equipment to PaaS on top of Kubernetes. He has a strong computer network background, which helps him design interconnected and distributed systems. Currently, he is a maintainer of the otomi-core project. Mohan is a Senior Software Engineer building no-code platforms to automate business tax compliance and change detection. He has been using temporal for more than 2 years to build a highly specialized distributed crawling infrastructure that currently crawls all the Government websites worldwide to parse tax changes.
Mohan has also been organizing the Docker and Kubernetes Communities in Chennai since 2015. Natan Yellin is a long-time open source contributor. He attended his first GNOME hackathon in Bolzano, Italy during high-school and has been creating open source projects ever since. When he's not on IRC (well, Slack nowadays) he's CEO of Robusta.dev - an open source platform for investigating and fixing alerts on Kubernetes.
