We are excited to announce the October Meetup scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th. There'll be 2 speakers for this Meetup. First Presentation: Container and Server-less Security. Speaker Bio: Jody Scott Second Presentation: A Deep-dive into GKE networking best practices. Speaker Bio: Michael Masaaud Agenda
The recent Capital One breach demonstrates how cloud is not just “another datacenter” and security must evolve. This Presentation will talk about security on containers, server-less, service meshes, shared credentials and more. The speaker will also describe different attack patterns and mitigations against them.
Jody Scott has over 20 years of experience in Linux/UNIX Administration, Software Development, Network Engineering, and Security. Currently, Jody runs the Solutions Engineering team for Aporeto a Cloud/Container Security startup. Jody currently focuses on emerging (and securing) technologies such as Kubernetes, server-less functions and cloud-native computing.
This presentation will explore Kubernetes' networking on GCP. First, concepts and GCP networking best practices will be explained and then a hand-on demo. If you have been working with Kubernetes on other platforms, this will show you how GCP does networking. Also, it will be good for those who are completely new to Kubernetes networking.
Michael has been in the industry for more than 10 years working in Ericsson and Verizon wireless. Michael is currently working as an Infrastructure Consultant for Google Cloud through SADA, part of the Google PSO team ( Professional Services Organization) helping customers on GCP migration.
