About this event

Hello Toronto Kubernauts!

It's already Q4 and our last meetup for 2017. We are very excited for this meetup - we have some great talks lined up. We look forward to seeing you there!

1) Project Calico & Istio: Application Connectivity at Scale, by Cody McCain at Tigera

Everything you (didn’t) want to know about application connectivity in a heterogenous environment. We will introduce Project Calico and the Istio project and discuss how application connectivity at scale requires capabilities across L3 through L7.

Cody McCain carries the Tigera flag in NYC where he helps customers connect all manner of things to the fabric. Prior to his current role, Cody provided Kubernetes training and implementation services at Apprenda. Cody has served in technology leadership roles across multiple verticals including energy, manufacturing, entertainment, and security. Cody has a B.S. in Physics from Abilene Christian University and is passionate about cloud native software development and distributed computing.

2) Kubernetes Networking by Nicholas Lane at CoreOS

A walkthrough of the fundamentals of networking used by Kubernetes, from Layer 2 switching, host to container virtual networking, Kubernetes ingress, Flannel, and Network Policy using Calico.
