Hello Kubernetes Enthusiasts!
I hope this month has been treating you splendidly! We are restarting our monthly meetup this November after a 2 month break. As always, we have some exciting talks lined up this month!
We also have a brand new location that is easier to access during peak traffic hours. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Our first speaker is Chris Kim from Rancher Labs, one of the biggest open source contributors to Kubernetes.
Title: When Virtual Machines are Containers - A Presentation on the Containerization of KVM Virtual Machines
Abstract: While conventional Docker containers serve most application use cases well, there is still a demand for the use of virtual machines, in cases where application workloads cannot be easily containerized. Through the power of KVM, it is possible to create containerized virtual machines and orchestrate them with Kubernetes as Pods. Chris Kim from Rancher Labs will talk about and demonstrate a project of Rancher Labs called Rancher VM, which is a solution that allows the creation and management of containerized virtual machines in any modern Kubernetes cluster.
Our second speaker is Adhita Selvaraj from Cisco. Adhita, an avid open source contributor and he is going to talk about kubeflow.
Title: Kubeflow - Cloud Native ML
Abstract: Accelerating ML development involves a building a set of dedicated tooling and instrumentation for efficient workflows. Kubeflow aims to provide a set of components for end-to-end orchestration of an ML app. We will walk through components in Kubeflow and do end-end demo of the same.
