We are excited to host the 9th edition of the Cloud Native Computing Linz meetup!
--------- The Speaker ---------
- Charles Pretzer is a field engineer at Buoyant, where he spends his time collaborating and engaging with the open source community of the CNCF service mesh Linkerd. He also enables production-level adoption by helping companies integrate Linkerd into their Kubernetes-based applications. Charles has spoken at meetups and conferences hosted by ABN AMRO, Macnica, and NGINX Conf. When he’s not presenting or in front of a computer, he’s riding a motorcycle or making a delicious mess in the kitchen.

Charles Pretzer - Service Mesh Core Principles: Observability through Telemetry with Linkerd
As the service mesh category of software continues to mature, the CNCF's first service mesh, Linkerd, has been adopted in production by an increasing number of organizations. One of the reasons for this adoption is that Linkerd enables collection of rich and actionable telemetry.
In the talk, we'll discuss about how metrics their collection are a core principle of any service mesh, and why the Linkerd team made observability through telemetry a core principle for Linkerd's architecture.
You'll learn about the tools available in Linkerd for viewing the metrics and we'll explore ideas for what types of integration with other CNCF projects would improve the application observability.
Meetup will be via Zoom, please respond to get the link to the call.
