Welcome to the first mad Scalability meetup!
We are going to have an interesting fight here, Félix (ShuttleCloud) will explain us why they migrated from microservices to a monolith architecture & Teo (Jobandtalent) will explain why they did the opposite.
If you want more information:
"From Distributed to Monolithic to Squeeze Your Resources"
by Félix (@flopezluis)
In this talk I'll walk through the process that took us from a Generic Distributed Platform which could work with any resource (email, contacts, calendars, etc.) to a monolithic platform for each resource.
In order to do that I'll provide an overview of the architecture of our migration product which currently is being used by customers such as Gmail, Comcast, and TimeWarner Cable.
"Breaking the monolith, the path to >10 million users"
by Teo (@teoruiz)
At jobandtalent we've are growing very fast on all fronts. At 10 million users and 50 engineers, we'll talk on how we leverage a service oriented architecture to help us scale. You'll learn about the challenges, design decisions and the building blocks that make the jobandtalent services architecture.
PS: we are using English for the introductions and descriptions because we don't want to exclude non-Spanish speakers to the meetup, but the talks will probably be in Spanish if all the people present understand it.
