About this event

Our 3rd meetup is scheduled for May 12th. Hope to see you all there, and looking forward to an excellent discussion!

Stefan Piesche, CTO at Constant Contact will be our featured guest speaker. Huge thanks to him and Constant Contact for their generous offer to host our meet up at their office and sponsor food/drinks.

Meetup Agenda:

Introductions: Ajit Umrani, Assembla

Featured Guest Speaker:  Stefan Piesche, Constant Contact

I asked Stefan to cover the following topics:

1) When and why did you decide to go to Microservices architecture?

2) How did you sell Microservices concept to business audience? What metrics can be demonstrably improved with Microservices?

3) Did you have any missteps or 'lessons learned' to share during the transition from a monolith or in managing a large number of Microservices?

4) Where do you see the Microservices architecture adoption going over the next few year?

(If you have any other questions that you would like to send in advance to Stefan, let me know)

Microservices in action: Arun Taylor, Accord Software

Arun will be demonstrating a multi-purpose service that can be used for configuration management, monitoring, messaging, testing, etc. as well as a protocol compiler for generating communication code that allows services written in different languages such as C/C++/C#, Python, Perl, Java, JavaScript, etc. to interoperate.

Follow up Discussion topic: Resources available for non-tech companies trying to build applications using Microservices architecture.

Interest Groups (if time permits): We will break into smaller interest groups based on the topics suggested by members.

Address: 1609 Trapelo road, Waltham, MA
