About this event

Hello Microservices enthusiasts,

Hope everyone is enjoying the unseasonably warm weather.

I had a great topic/speaker lined up for the upcoming meetup but it took a couple of attempts to find a venue. But thanks to Bryan@acadian-asset we are all set. Our guest speaker is Govind from Appranix and he will be talking about App-centric operations for deploying and operating stateless and stateful services on cloud platforms. Hope to see you all there!

Event Details:

Thanks to Acadian Asset Management for hosting us in their beautiful downtown location and for sponsoring food/beverages.

Meetup Agenda:

Networking and Food/Beverages: 6 to 6.30 PM

Introduction: 6.30 PM - Ajit Umrani (Meetup Organizer)

Featured Guest Speaker: 6:30 PM – Govind Rangasamy, CEO, Appranix

Abstract: Microservice architectures are great when you start green field. Replatforming an existing app by breaking up monolithic architectures is hard but that’s where the industry is headed. How about a middle ground to start with? But before that, have you got your application environments (AppSpaces) with all the components ready? Where do you start? How do you convince your Ops to run them in production?

Overview: Appranix will share their experience in operating 40+ microservices with stateful components as part of their platform running on Azure and AWS. Appranix will also share how one of the Global 2000 is using their platform to deploy and operate stateless and stateful app components together. Don’t make the mistakes that we made; come learn and avoid some of our mistakes

Containerize and microservice your enterprise apps and operate them effectively on cloud platforms Operate Kubernetes-as-a-service across your DevTest environments Deploy and operate microservice containers and visualize stateful and stateless services together Replatforming takes time so control the cost while you microservice your app components Why not use the right cloud service for the right app components? Best of all, make Ops teams life simpler because they already struggle to cope with running current production apps

Q/A and Networking: 7:30 to 8 PM
