We have two talks lined up for this event where folks from ANZ and Momenton will be talking about their Kubernetes journey and capabilities on top of it.

Talk 1: Canary Deployments leveraging KONG

Presenters: Pawan Chaudhary (ANZ) and Phani Kumar (Momenton)

We will show case how to achieve blue / green deployments for the Kong API gateway using Kubernetes. For the current version on Kong enterprise edition, Kong needs a datastore which stores key configurations like services, routes, plugins etc... A number of enterprises are adopting Kong as their API gateway and want capability to seamlessly upgrade to newer versions, whilst also being able to rollback to older versions of Kong in case of issues. This can be easily achieved using Kong and Kubernetes together.

Talk 2: Kubernetes with Spinnaker and Istio at ANZ

Presenters: Brendan Wreford (ANZ) & Tejas Cherukara (ANZ)

A look at how cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Spinnaker, and Istio can be used to deliver enterprise software and feature releases. Cloud-native practices enable us to scale depending on our needs, and uphold security standards with the use of Istio and control feature releases with canary testing and Spinnaker. A brief look at how these technologies help accelerate the speed to market without compromising on reliability or security.
