The YAML Templating Tool (ytt) & A look at CockroachDB

In-person event

About this event

Hello SF Kubernauts!

The June SFK8s meetup is rapidly approaching! We hope you can join us for a fun evening of K8s learning and networking.

First on the program is Nima and Dmitriy presenting "ytt: Simplify complex configuration management for K8s."

Despite frequent backlash on templating YAML, the general Kubernetes community continues to text-template YAML configuration objects. This can be observed looking at the success of HELM and all the community provided HELM charts and community best practices. The YAML Templating Tool (ytt) is a new take on YAML templating that allows for structure-aware, declarative, and modular templating of YAML documents. In this talk Nima & Dmitriy will discuss how configuration and customization of Kubernetes objects can be simplified when using ytt.

Second on the program, Roko will present "Running CockroachDB on K8s."

During this talk, Roko will introduce us to CockroachDB. He will highlight the properties behind what makes it great for running on Kubernetes and give a quick demo.

SPONSORED: A shout-out to NetApp for continued support of the meetup group and to SysDig for providing a great venue this month!
