About this event

Hello Seattle Kubernauts!

You are invited to join us for the February SEAK8s meetup.

Tudor Marcu from Dell EMC will present the first talk of the evening. His talk will give an overview of running a GraphQL server inside a Kubernetes cluster. He will cover how they perform authentication to allow users to run queries, and the underlying code and controllers that communicate with the K8s API server.

For the second presentation, we welcome back Erick Thompson. He gave a great talk on Kustomize last October. This time he’ll be presenting “Getting to Automatic DNS and TLS in Kubernetes.” Once you've finished getting your new cluster and running, and have a few services deployed to it, the next step is to expose those services to the outside world. This means configuring things like DNS and TLS. Management of these can quickly become a drain on time and is open to human error. In this talk Erick will demonstrate an approach using cert-manager, Let's Encrypt, and external-dns to automate DNS and TLS to make configuring these touch free.

SPONSORED: Thank you to Dell EMC for offering to host the group this month. We also appreciate ongoing support from NetApp.
