To celebrate the 1.0 release and to promote the software to a wider audience, the Istio community is hosting an all day live stream on Twitch on August 17th.

And they have asked our very own Community Architect Lisa-Marie Namphy to host this event, along with Spencer Krum, longtime open source community contributor.

Lisa hosted the first ever Istio meetup and is proud to be back with the community to celebrate the 1.0 release!

The stream is going to be a full day of Istio content. We’ll have a good mix of deep technical content, beginner content, and line-of-business content for our audience. We’ll have developers, users, and evangelists on throughout the day to share their demos and stories.

Expect live coding, Q and A, and some surprises. We'll be talking to the founders of the project and some of the core contributors as well as consumers of the technology. We have stellar guests lined up from IBM, Google, Datadog, Lyft, F5, Pivotal, and more!

Pop in and out of the Twitch stream all day long as your schedule allows. And don't forget, this is an interactive platform (NOT just for gaming!) so we want you to contribute your thoughts and questions in the live chat feed!
