Meet & Drink: OpenStack in Production

SF Bay Cloud Native

Dec 15, 2011, 2:30 – 5:30 AM

In-person event

About this event

Join Bay Area stacker community for the third quarterly meet and drink event. This time around you’ll get to hear from OpenStack users that run it in production and at large scale.

As usual we’ll start at 6:30pm. Open bar, food and mingling with other stackers… I promise we’ll have more socializing and less presenting this time around.

7:30ish we’ll kick of the formal session. So far we have the following speakers / panelists:

Ken Pepple – Internap recently announced the first public cloud based on OpenStack Nova. Ken is the Director of Cloud Development at Internap, responsible for this project. Also an author of a book on Deploying OpenStack.

Ray O’Brien – CTO of NASA Ames Research Center. Ray oversees NASA’s nebula project, which is the original foundation of OpenStack Nova.

Rodrigo Benzaquen - R&D Director at MercadoLibre, the largest online trading platform in Latin America; currently using Nova in production.

In the best tradition Meet & Drink events, this time around, again, we’ll have a small surprise for all attendees.

The event is free, but we’d appreciate if you can RSVP so we can plan food, drinks and seating capacity accordingly.
